Step To Step Guide on How to Disassemble a Trampoline

You will not spend much time disassembling your trampoline as it’s an easy process. Here are the important steps to follow;

1. Start by Cleaning the Trampoline

After some days of use, the trampoline tends to have dirt buildup. When disassembling it, the dirt makes it hard to remove the parts. To avoid struggling with the trampoline parts, my kids and I prefer to wash them before we start disassembling them. Use a washcloth and clean water to do this. Then allow it to dry and, while waiting, sort out the storage boxes that will keep all the parts in place.

2. Detach the Trampoline Nets

Then remove the trampoline nets and poles. Doing this will enable you to reach the mat, which is the main part that takes time to disassemble. Unscrew the clamps on the poles that hold them in place.

After the clamps get loose, pull the poles out of the trampoline frame. Then use a screwdriver to remove the screws on the net. If ropes tie the trampoline net, untie them and remove the net.

3. Remove the Safety Padding

Removing the safety padding is not cumbersome since they are only tied. Remember, the safety pad makes the trampoline safe and makes the mat soft to land on. Straps or Velcro hold it into place, so you just pull them off.

4. Unfasten the Springs

This is the main process of disassembling a trampoline. The spring puller requires a lot of effort to remove the springs. Check the trampoline springs before starting the process. You’ll have to use different trampoline removal tricks if it’s broken or rusty. Consider replacing the rusty springs.

But if the springs are in perfect condition, go ahead and remove the springs using a spring puller. Attach the spring puller at the end of every spring and twist it to release the tension on them. Repeat this until all the springs are out, and remove them from the mat.

Don’t forget to fold the mat and secure it well to prevent it from unfolding after storage. Also, cover the mat and use bungee cords or a rope to tie the fabric.

5. Detach And Store the Frame

Before finishing off, you need to remove the trampoline frame. But if you have a safe and enough space, you can leave it assembled, leaning against a wall or furniture. If there’s no space for such, disassemble it and mark all the pieces to have an easy time when you assemble it.

Use a screwdriver to disassemble the frame. After the frame is detached, remove the legs by unscrewing them. If the legs are welded on the frame, and you don’t want to reassemble your trampoline in the future, you can use a saw to cut them off. Then remove the outer ring by twisting them to get out of the t-joints. Finally, store all the trampoline components in storage boxes.

How Long Does It Take to Dissemble a Trampoline?

The time you will use to disassemble the trampoline depends on several factors. If you’re still learning how to disassemble a trampoline, it might take longer than when you’re a pro. Additionally, the size and type of trampoline determine the time you will take.

But trampoline removal takes less time if you have the right tools. On average, expect to spend between two to four hours disassembling the trampoline. We recommend working as a team with your family or friends to reduce the time used to disassemble the trampoline.
